With the Sharework project, in which the SEAT S.A. paint shop has participated, a set of innovative solutions have been developed through the application of artificial intelligence, providing an effective solution for the assembly and disassembly of car body parts with a high degree of complexity. At the same time, it has allowed us to improve the ergonomic and productivity conditions of the workers.
During the spare parts supply process, the employee performs the assembly and disassembly processes of parts together with a collaborative robot through an interactive and intuitive environment, meaning replacing vehicle parts can be performed very effectively.

In this assembly process, the employee monitors the tasks to be performed by the robot, validating each of the routines to be executed. Thanks to the development of a specific software solution for this use case, the operator guides and monitors all the activity with the help of augmented reality glasses and a smart watch, that allows the operator to keep control of the whole system.

With the Sharework project, a conventional robot has been transformed into an intelligent system capable of working efficiently and collaboratively with the employee. This not only improves day-to-day working conditions, but also offers the possibility to develop and train in robotized and digitized environments, improving the employee’s skills and competencies.
