Project partners from LMS and INTRASOFT have organised a workshop last 26th of October for the integration of Sharework module #9 “The Human-robot communication interface” and #12 “The data security module”, which was celebrated on SEAT Mockup demonstrator installed at the University of Patras facilities in Greece.
The “Human-robot communication interface module” (Module #9) has the objective to inform the worker about robot actions and is ready to collect feedbacks and commands from the worker, so that they system is able to act also under direct worker command. On the other hand, the “Data security module” (Module #12) ensures data consistency and flow in order to avoid data mistakes leading to accidents as well as protect information on various security levels (such as privacy, identity and integrity), using data encryption and access controls.
The workshop resulted in the integration of the data security module by INTRA, supported also by partners from LMS especially in aspects related to robot safeguarding. The programme of the workshop included different sessions such as a roundtable and installation of the equipment, a session focused on the description of the assembly scenario and demonstration and the organisation of integration activities and testing.
The Robotics, Automation and Virtual Reality in Manufacturing research group from the Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems & Automation (LMS) of the University of Patras, Greece, is involved in the development, software implementation and use of advanced tools based on AI methods for industrial robotics applications. The group will transfer its experience for the development of human-robot interfaces for an effective collaboration.
