The Sharework project has been present in the 27th International Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation (ETFA 2022), celebrated on September 6th-9th in the University of Stuttgart (Germany).
Alessandro Umbrico, project partner from CNR-ISTC, together with Marco Faroni (CNR-STIIMA) and Dionisis Andronas (LSM) organised a workshop entitled “Towards the factory of the future: advances in planning, control, and perception of industrial robots” to present the Sharework project.
The workshop discussed how recent developments in planning and control of robot manipulators and synergetic integration with results from Artificial Intelligence and cognition can advance the state of the art and be applied to real-world manufacturing.
During the workshop, two scientific papers supported by Sharework were presented: “Learning Action Duration and Synergy in Task Planning for Human-Robot Collaboration”, produced by partners from CNR-STIIMA, and “Enhanced Cognition for Adaptive Human-Robot Collaboration”, with the collaboration of partners from CNR-ISTC, GOIZPER, STAM, RWTH Aachen University and CNR-ISTC.
Also within this workshop, Werner Kraus, from Fraunhofer, delivered the keynote “Trends in robotics and automation of automation” on how the market demands can be solved by cognitive robots, while giving examples from current state of research.
The ETFA 2022 conference focused on the latest developments and new technologies in the field of industrial and factory automation, disseminating novel ideas and emerging trends, research results and practical achievements.
