Sharework partners have visited NISSAN facilities in Zona Franca, Barcelona, for defining the implementation of cobots in the automotive industry during the mounting of vehicle doors. The visit, which took place on April 3rd, consisted of a company introduction by NISSAN’s General Manager of New Models and a visit to vehicles assembly area, followed by a technical discussion.
Sharework project will provide and test a high payload collaborative robot for the automation of the positioning phase when mounting the doors on NISSAN vehicles. The cobot will automatically carry, position and hold the doors while the operator carries on with the rest of the installation.
NISSAN Europe is a European subsidiary of NISSAN Motor Co., Japan’s second-largest automotive company. The firm contributes to the project through its Spanish operations Nissan Motor Ibérica S.A and provide one of the industrial scenarios.
