Sharework project represents the first step toward a new way of manufacturing in which humans and robots work together seamlessly to improve productivity and quality of processing, while reducing errors.
This has resulted in the implementation of a logistic station where a man and a robot work together to mount, unmount and check parts on several equipments, aided by an AGV system that transport raw and finished parts from and to our machining centres.
The benefits of the proposed solution are tangible: the operators have willingly accepted the introduction of collaborative robots in the workshop and showed to be curious about new technologies. This new approach allows them to dedicate themselves to higher value-added activities, improving the quality of work operations but also to improve the ergonomic aspects. Furthermore, this solution fits perfectly with the need to cope with the variability of production and market demands, since the flexibility and the robustness of the system are combined.
Our operators have accepted the introduction of cobots in the shopfloor, allowing to take on higher added-value tasks
The Sharework project is part of a more articulated scenario in which Cembre‘s objective is to make our shopfloor totally integrated and completely flexible. Also, a digital model of the shopfloor, in which our proposed solution is located, has been created, aimed at maximising production performance through task planning on the various work centres.

Throughout these four years, the support of the National Research Centre (CNR) as our technical contact, and MCM as our technology partner, was crucial to the success of the entire project.
We are very satisfied with the results achieved with the Sharework project, which have been far beyond our initial expectations. This propels Cembre towards new ambitious and even more challenging scenarios.
Cembre Group is an international company designing, manufacturing and distributing accessories for cables, electrical connectors and tools for their installation. The company, with its industrial experience in the field of flexible manufacturing systems will contribute in the definition of system specifications and acts as one of the four industrial scenarios where Sharework system will be applied.
