Sharework project partner Machining Centers Manufacturing (MCM) participated to the 2019 edition of the EMO fair, held on September 16-21 in Hannover. During the event, Giuseppe Fogliazza, Technical Manager at MCM, gave a live presentation on the project’s main goals and MCM’s role on it.
After the presentation, Fogliazza collected feedback from some attendees regarding the solution proposed by Sharework. Mainly attendees expressed that Sharework’s “goal to prepare the ground for the creation of robotic partners for human personnel in modern metal machining plants is extremely ambitious”.
Attendants were especially concerned about “the rusts of handling heavy metal components with sharp edges in a space shared by humans and robots” but agree on that “the ambitious goal could lead, on a shorter term, to more flexible and user-friendly robotics applications, a very important step to keep manufacturing in Europe”.
On the other hand, project flyers were displayed at MCM’s booth at Hall 13, and handed out to all attendees approaching.
MCM is an international company with headquarters in Piacenza, Italy specialized in the design, construction and maintenance of flexible production systems and machining centers, delivering customized solutions to the aerospace, automotive, and general mechanical industry.
Within Sharework project, the company contributes to the project system hardware design and software tool.
