Néstor Garcia, Sharework Technical coordinator and researcher at Eurecat’s Robotics and Automation Unit, has presented the project during the workshop “Working side by side with robots. Human factors in industrial settings” organised by HR-Recycler on June 18th. HR-Recycler is a European project aimed to create a hybrid collaborative environment in which humans and robots share different processing and handling tasks at the same time.
This workshop was aimed to explore and discuss about Human-Robot Collaboration (HRC) in the working environment focusing on the analysis of the different aspects of HRC which can have an important impact on its integration with the human worker in the industry field. Moreover, the workshop offered great talks spanning empathy and moral core for robots, automation in unpredictable scenarios, education, multimodal human-robot collaboration and ethics standards.
The project was presented at the session “HRC mutual adaptation in industrial settings” under the title “Cognitive Robotics and AI for an effective industrial HRI: the Sharework case”, in which Néstor Garcia gave a general overview about the project and shared the main advances done on Cognitive Robotics and Artificial Intelligence for human robot interaction.
The workshop counted with presentations from representatives of the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), Tecnalia, the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), the University of Siena, the University of Modena, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Cybserselves, the University of Patras and the Vrije University Brussels.
