AndreA Orlandini, member of CNR Institute for Cognitive Science and Technology (ISTC), has attended the 28th IEEE International Conference on Robot & Human Interactive Communication ROMAN 2019, which took place in New Delhi (India) on 14-18 October 2019.
During the conference, Orlandini delivered a presentation on ROS-TiPlEx, the first tool addressing the connection of ROS and timeline-based planning. The presentation, included in the “Cognitive Interaction Design” session, also made reference of Sharework project, working to ensure, in an industrial environment, a safe and effective human robot collaboration without fences.
Developed by CNR, ROS-TiPIEx provides a shared environment in which experts in robotics and planning can easily interact to, respectively, encode information about low-level robot control and define task planning and execution models.
ISTC-CNR, located in Rome, is aleading institute for cognitive science, cognitive technology and artificial intelligence. Within Sharework project, the Institute leads the development of a module for human-aware dynamic task planning and scheduling and the Knowledge Base to provide an abstract representation of the working cells.
